It's easy to hate.
In some Nations, to hate, or more accurately, to "Incite Hate" is a crime.
Hate, much like Love is not an emotion. It is a decision.
It is a decision which is often made from fear, or ignorance, but often as well it is a decision based upon misanthropy. Although hate is a decision, it does lead to an emotional response that is anger.
This quote from Moliere (1666)...
"My hate is general, I detest all men;
Some because they are wicked and do evil,
Others because they tolerate the wicked,
Refusing them the active vigorous scorn
Which vice should stimulate in virtuous minds."
Affection is an emotion.
Passion is an emotion.
Compassion is a decision.
Love is a decision.
It's important to think of these in this way because when you do, you can understand Love.
I choose Love. In our Great House Singularity, I upon hearing the inspired words of Empress Jamyl 1 gave freedom to the 1,232 slaves of our family. Generations of Minmatar tribes people calling for their freedom suddenly obtained it. Then moments upon my words of granting our House's slaves their freedom, and upon announcing that I would pay transport to Mini space all that wished to go, something amazing happened. There was dreadful panic in our House. Panic rose among their ranks with pleas and begging that our family not release them. In the end, all but 10 have stayed upon their free will and we are still presently negotiating terms of employment.
The 10 that left were indeed dissatisfied and an internal family investigation revealed more then I wish to share here, but I kept our promise and charterred 10 to Republic Space. In the many months since, two of the 10 have requested return.
This is Love. It is a decision they have made, a decision I have made.
Respect is also a decision, not an emotion.
Pain is a condition often a result of an injury.
Constant pain leads to anger which in turn leads to hate.
It is not us Amarr that deserves hate. Let the hard working Minmatar lift themselves up from their lot, let them build their Republic to great stature among the Empires, let them bring their people from starvation and strife, let their tribes unite like no other time in history, for then and only then can their Love for their own people surpass their own Hate of themselves.
